Paper boat found in Eriskay, Outer Hebrides.

 Hi Joanne

I found a boat at the CoChomunn Eirisgeidh shop in Eriskay, Western Isles.    I will be sending it on to my grandson in Fareham, UK.  Helen MacLean

Paper boat found in Shetland

Hi my kids found 2 paper boats in the waiting room for the mousa boat, we go in the shed occasionally after looking for seals on the pier, (we live in sandwick) the kids were very excited and we are going to post them both to different parts of australia, 1 to their cousin and  the other their grandpa, that's assuming I can stop them playing with the boats, just the right size for Lego mini figure adventures it seems!

Great idea

Paper boat found in Shetland.

I found this paper boat whilst I was working at boots in Lerwick! It was sitting on top of a no7 skincare stand! I found it and showed my colleagues and it brought us excitement that day haha! :)

Paper boat found in Thurso, Caithness..

And this wee boat is going on a long journey!

I found a paper boat in St Anne's church, Thurso and am about to post it to my son in Hoddesdon, Hertforshire with a request that he post it on to his wife's family in Brazil - would be good to have a South American connection!

Paper boat has arrived in Tasmania!

:Alex and Ella with paper boat no. 6 found by their great granny Eileen Rainbow in The Peerie Cafe Scrabster last month! Just arrived in the south of Tasmania where they live!  Is that  the record so far North to South? ?  All the best, Sue Rainbow.

(Yes, this is the most southerly paper boat so far!)

Paper boat found in Finland!

I'm Annika, a 17-year-old girl from Kontiolahti, eastern Finland and I have found your paper boat. It was traveling in a train between Parikkala and Savonlinna, two quite small cities in the southeast Finland. Me and my friends found it and took it with us and it's located at our home in Kontiolahti at the moment. We are planning to travel somewhere so we could send the boat to a new adventure! :) I really love your idea of sending these boats to different places and following their journey and I would be thrilled to hear how far they have traveled. I wish you all the best and I hope your project succeeds!

Have a great summer,

Annika Jääskeläinen

We arrived in Shetland on wednesday via orkney on the overnight northlink ferry.  A calm crossing!!

Our first task was meeting with john hunter, Shetland Museum and Archives exhibitions officer, and a cherry picker!!

250 paper boats are now on display in Shetland Museum main foyer, you can't miss them, they look stunning.  They are on display until mid August.

Then the fun began, as I started to hide paper boats around Shetland for you to find. Good luck!

1st Class! Paper boat takes a ride on one of the UK's most famous steam engines

Photo thanks to Ian Pearson (paper boat HQ for  Caithness!!)
Looks like one of the Caithness paper boats is taking a ride south - Ian Pearson has been out and about hiding them in the county !

The steam train, The Great Britain IX, stopped at Thurso train station yesterday while on a 9 day tour of the country.
